The first “Headliner of the Year” awarding ceremony was held on April 18, 2018. It was aimed at searching and promoting people full of outstanding creative ideas, consistent in their implementation and able to inspire colleagues, encouraging community development and progress throughout the country. Anyone who wished could submit an application; the open vote was conducted on Lenta.ru website. The nominees’ personal achievements in the fields of science, art, sports, business and social life were taken into account.
The awarding ceremony resembled a space show. On their arrival, guests were greeted by a voice inviting them to become passengers of the first flight of the Headliner spacecraft, which was going to search people of the future.
Each nomination was accompanied by a full immersion in a journey across new worlds: open space with Elon Musk’s launched Tesla cabrio for the Science nomination, fantastic neon ocean for Sport nomination, Van Gogh’s paintings world for Culture nomination, ice planet for Business nomination and planet Pandora for "Social life" nomination. The guests were fully immersed in the world of the award by means of the projections on the walls, columns of the hall, fabric canvases that closed the windows.
To present the Headliner apartment complex, it was decided to make a large-scale light show that would highlight the building under construction. It was a spectacular finale of the award. The canvases on the windows rose during the performance of singer Manizha, and the guests saw the Headliner apartment complex at its best.
